Alternatives to Supercargo for landed cost and duty
Updated · By Joshua Giles, founder of Supercargo (JG Core Ltd)
What can I use instead of Supercargo?
If you want duty-inclusive cost per unit, the main options are a do-it-yourself spreadsheet from your free ACE ES-003 report, inventory tools that allocate costs you enter (SoStocked), accounting connectors (A2X), a licensed broker’s correction filings, or post-entry audit services. Only an audit of your filed entries shows the duty you actually paid.
| Option | What it does | Best for | Price | Limit for this job |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A DIY spreadsheet from your ACE ES-003 report | Pull your own Entry Summary Line Tariff Details report from the free ACE Portal and build landed cost per unit yourself. | Hands-on sellers with spreadsheet skills and the time to keep it current. | Free (ACE is free); the cost is your time | Needs an ACE importer account (via CBP Form 5106) and manual upkeep every time a tariff changes. |
| SoStocked (Inventory + Profit) | Amazon inventory forecasting and purchase orders, with landed-cost-per-unit columns on PO dashboards. | FBA sellers who want inventory planning with an allocated per-unit cost. | From $175 a month | Allocates the costs you enter on a PO; it does not read the duty actually assessed on your filed entries. |
| A2X for Amazon (with COGS) | Summarises Amazon payouts into Xero or QuickBooks and posts cost of goods sold per period. | Sellers who want bookkeeping that matches Amazon payouts. | $59 a month (Starter, first plan with COGS); $29 Mini without COGS; up to $1,499 | Uses the SKU costs you enter or upload; it does not reconcile them against customs entries. |
| Supercargo Duty & Landed Cost Audit | Reconciles every entry you have already filed (from your ES-003 export) to landed cost per unit, including the Chapter 99 stack. | Amazon sellers who are importer of record and want true duty-inclusive margin per SKU. | $1,200 / £900 / €1,050 one-off, refunded if the variance is under 2% | Backward-looking: it reports on filed entries. It is not a broker and gives no forward duty figure. |
| Zonos Landed Cost | Calculates and guarantees duties, taxes and fees at checkout for cross-border orders. | Merchants shipping internationally to end customers. | $2 per order + 10% of duties, taxes and fees (typically paid by the shopper) | Forward-looking, at checkout; it is not built to audit your past US import entries. |
| Licensed broker corrections (e.g. Strix) | A licensed customs broker reviews entries and files Post Summary Corrections on filed 7501s. | Importers who already know specific entries need correcting. | $150 per correction entry (up to 10 lines) | Corrects duty on entries; it does not produce per-SKU landed cost for your margins. |
| KlearNow Post Entry Audit | Software that reconciles cleared entries against source documents and the rules in force. | Higher-volume importers wanting a software-led post-entry audit. | Price on request | Focused on duty correctness, not Amazon per-SKU cost of goods. |
| GingerControl | Trade-compliance firm running duty and purchase-order reconciliation audits and refund preparation. | Importers who want a consultancy to audit entries against POs. | Price on request | By its own description not a broker and does not guarantee a recovery amount. |
| Flexport Customs Brokerage | Licensed brokerage with entry filing and a customs analysis of historical entry data. | Importers moving their freight and brokerage to Flexport. | Price on request | A brokerage relationship rather than a fixed-fee, one-off audit. |
Who should pick what
- You have time and a few dozen entries: build it yourself from the ES-003 report. Our ES-003 guide and free template show how.
- You mainly need reorder planning: an inventory tool such as SoStocked, with your own cost inputs.
- You need bookkeeping that matches Amazon payouts: an accounting connector such as A2X.
- You already know which entries are wrong: a licensed broker filing Post Summary Corrections.
- You want to know what each SKU really cost, from what you actually filed: the Supercargo audit.
